Whether it is the history of Europe, the development of modern European literature or the art of Rome that fascinates you, the Research Master’s specialisations are an excellent choice for talented students who want to prepare themselves for an international academic career.
The courses in the three Master’s specialisations (Historical Studies, Literary Studies, Art and Visual Culture) are taught in English, and include not only specialised courses, but also shared interdisciplinary courses focusing on the methodology and theory of research within humanities. Interdisciplinary discussion will encourage you to expand your research ideas and adopt an independent perspective on current philosophical and methodological issues in the humanities. One specific course is dedicated to debates concerning the societal relevance of the humanities.
